Introduction

Lady Margaret Primary School is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

This website is run by Lady Margaret Primary School and is supported by design/internet.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Compliance Status

Due the partial exemption for schools from the accessibility requirements for public sector websites. Lady Margaret Primary School believes it is currently meeting the government’s requirements.  We strive to ensure our website conforms to WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards. This means that our website aims to be:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components are presented in ways that users can perceive.
  • Operable: User interface components and navigation are operable.
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface are understandable.
  • Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Measures Taken to Improve Accessibility

To enhance accessibility, our website features:

  • A clear and consistent navigation system.
  • Fully responsive format to fit any screen size
  • Correctly implemented ARIA labels to ensure compatibility with screen readers
  • Ability to zoom up to 400%+
  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • Well-structured content using appropriate headings and landmarks.

Non-Accessible Content

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This may include:

  • older PDF’s may be inaccessible to assistive technologies
  • third party plugins may not be fully accessible
  • video content may not include captions
  • some images may lack alternative text or captions
  • some images may contain textual content that is inaccessible to assistive technologies
  • where audio files are used there may not be an accompanying text transcript

We are working to improve these areas of our website to make it accessible for all.

If you encounter any issues, please let us know so we can work to improve accessibility.
