We actively uphold Article 2 of the UNCRC:
All children have rights, no matter who they are, where they live or what they believe.
We believe that meaningful change begins with reflection, education and action. Our staff team has received extensive and specialist training in areas such as:

• Embedding race equity across subjects
• Exploring Black British history and identity
• Challenging unconscious bias and systemic inequality
• Creating inclusive, affirming learning environments
This training has been delivered by leading experts and practitioners in the field of race, education and social justice, equipping staff with the tools and knowledge to critically evaluate and adapt their practice.
We are committed to providing a broad, balanced, and representative curriculum where all pupils see their heritage, culture and contributions reflected and celebrated.
This includes:
• Teaching Black British history as part of the broader historical narrative
• Embedding global majority voices across English, PSHE, Art, Music and Humanities
• Using texts and topics that reflect a range of lived experiences, authors and perspectives
• Providing opportunities for pupils to see themselves as change-makers and leaders
• Our curriculum is reviewed regularly with a lens of representation, fairness and impact, ensuring that equity is not an add-on, but a foundation.
We actively listen to and celebrate the diverse identities within our school community. Pupils engage in:
• Discussions and assemblies on equality, anti-racism, and allyship
• Leadership roles where they advocate for justice and equality through pupil voice groups and school council
Children at Lady Margaret are encouraged to be critical thinkers, empathetic friends and courageous advocates for fairness.
