This is an integral part of our Oracy curriculum, providing the experience of working and performing with professional actors. The projects each year support critical thinking, dialogue, role play and collaboration, helping pupils articulate ideas and practice effective communication.
In 2024, the Primary Shakespeare Company awarded Lady Margaret the Annie Williams trophy for their impressive work and performance of Julius Caesar. As a result of winning this prestigious award, pupils visited the House of Lords to share experiences of the project and met Baroness Estelle Morris. Pupils also presented to board members of the John Lyon's Charity which supports this superb project.
As part of our wonderful work with Heyday, pupils are invited to attend the British Film Institute (BFI) for an interschool short film festival. This event celebrates our achievements and budding filmmaking skills. Pupils are provided with a platform to speak about their films and the many diverse themes they encapsulate.
The stories fire up imagination and excitement and introduce both familiar and new ideas.
This programme supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self esteem through hands-on activities in the natural environment and is closely linked to our theme of sustainability as children are taught about how to look after our natural world.
They regularly take part in projects which develop their understanding of the natural world such as growing seeds that were taken to space, which involved Tim Peake, the renowned British European Space Agency Astronaut. We annually enter, and usually win, the Ealing in Bloom competition and in 2024 we won the Cultivating Ealing School Gardens competition for the best overall school garden. This is linked to our theme of sustainability.
In year 4, there is an African drumming programme which provides a dynamic platform to enhance skills by emphasising rhythm collaboration and expressive communication.
Through call and response patterns, our pupils develop active listening and an understanding of musical rhythm. In year 5, all pupils learn to play the ukulele, learning how to pluck and strum, and elements of reading music.
In addition, we have a school choir, who regularly perform within the community, but also do an annual visit to an inter-school performance at the Royal Albert Hall. We also have I-Rock that provides small group tuition to children with a particular interest.
In 2025 we are taking pupils to the open air opera at Holland Park, where the importance of music to enhance our lives will be illustrated. Through the music curriculum our pupils are exposed to a range of musical artist and their legacy. We are always looking for opportunities for our most talented pupils to develop their skills outside of school.

Whilst our children are exposed to a wide range of sports and practice on sports' fields with high quality equipment, our specialist sport is cricket and we have professional cricket nets for children to practice in. We are always looking for opportunities for our most talented pupils to develop their skills outside of school.
In addition, we have an after school and before school club and many additional "booster" classes to ensure pupils keep up academically.
The school has recently developed a wild garden with a pond, bug hotels and wild flowers, to encourage a wide range of mini-beasts to take up residence. There are also swift boxes around the school to provide a safe environment for nesting swifts whose natural habitats are in decline.
Giving children opportunities to learn about the natural world and the importance of protecting and respecting the environment links to our themes of morality and sustainability.
The aim of this event is to broaden pupils' knowledge of different careers, raise their aspirations and develop an understanding of what skills each career requires. This event links to the theme of power.
