Through expert teaching and purposeful sequencing , we build strong foundations, deepen understanding, and ignite curiosity. We have four curriculum themes; LEGACY, MORALITY, POWER and SUSTAINABILITY, which provide meaningful links between subjects and subject specific concepts.
Our curriculum exceeds the national curriculum expectations. It is designed around high quality texts which have been carefully selected, taking into account the community we serve. The curriculum is knowledge rich and coherently sequenced to enable our pupils to build their understanding of key concepts in each specific subject over time. We aim to develop a thirst for learning which will remain with our pupils for life. The development of effective communication skills, vocabulary development and use of technology are embedded into the curriculum.
Valuable information is shared with parents on a regular basis through our half termly curriculum newsletters and the parent overviews. We formally report to parents, on the impact of the curriculum on their child’s progress, six times a year. We seek their views termly through surveys and workshops.
Leaders work with governors to review the impact of the curriculum and the provision for vulnerable pupils.
We place pupil voice front and centre of our review methodology, frequently and systematically asking them to share their view of the curriculum and their engagement in learning.
Lady Margaret Primary School is committed to embedding Occupational Therapy (OT) strategies across the curriculum to ensure every child can access learning, regulate their emotions and develop independence.
We believe that inclusive, sensory-aware environments and OT-informed teaching practices empower pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Our OT approach aligns with the principles of universal inclusive practice, ensuring that adaptations and supports are available to all pupils, not just those with identified learning needs. OT strategies are integrated through a graduated approach—universal, targeted and specialist—supporting pupils at every level of need. We promote emotional regulation, sensory processing awareness and motor skill development as foundational to learning and participation.
