The cornerstone concepts of our curriculum

Our mission as a school is based upon four cornerstone concepts that we want our children to understand, value and practice wisely. These concepts connect children’s learning in every curriculum subject. They act as bridges from the classroom to the world outside. They enable children to link their learning to real life, apply their learning to worthy tasks and develop the habits of mind that will prepare them for a purposeful, flourishing life.

Lady

Legacy

We encourage our children to engage with the legacy of those who have been before – their ideas, discoveries, art, inventions and special places – with a sense of curiosity and wonder. We inspire and enable them to create their own legacies for those who follow.

Margaret

Morality

We encourage our children to engage with the legacy of those who have been before – their ideas, discoveries, art, inventions and special places – with a sense of curiosity and wonder. We inspire and enable them to create their own legacies for those who follow.

Primary

Power

Our children develop personal power by learning strategies to manage their thoughts and feelings. They learn the power of responsible leadership and acquire specialist disciplinary powers to analyse, understand and shape the world around them.

School

Sustainability

We empower our children to play their part in creating ways to meet today’s needs for all without harm to future generations, or the natural world.
